Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the LocktoLearn mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Agreement
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and LocktoLearn ("we", "us", "our"). You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service on your own; users under 13 must be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian.
2. Account Responsibilities
To use the Service, you must sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the account used to sign in and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe to be compromised, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.
3. Subscription Terms
Some Service features require a subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed through Apple's StoreKit. The price, billing period, renewal date, and any free trial details are disclosed clearly before purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
- Free trials, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Prices may change with notice; continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent permitted by law.
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights or violates applicable law.
- Use the Service in connection with any unauthorised commercial activity.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.
5. Screen Time Functionality Disclaimer
LocktoLearn uses Apple Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) to help you manage app access. The behaviour of these APIs is determined by Apple's iOS implementation and may change with iOS updates. LocktoLearn is not a substitute for parental supervision and does not guarantee that any user (including a child) cannot find other ways to access apps or content. Parents and guardians should supervise their child's usage and configure additional iOS Screen Time settings as appropriate.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, content, and trademarks, is owned by LocktoLearn and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. Content you create remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to host, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.
7. Apple's Role
Apple is not a party to these Terms. LocktoLearn is an independent application; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. You acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and LocktoLearn, not Apple.
- LocktoLearn — not Apple — is solely responsible for the Service and its content.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you as a user.
- Apple, the Apple logo, App Store, and Screen Time are trademarks of Apple Inc.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that defects will be corrected.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocktoLearn and its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in-app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, used the Service in a way that creates risk for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
