How do I sign in to LocktoLearn?
Tap "Sign In" on the welcome screen and choose Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. Your account is created automatically on first sign-in — there's no separate registration.
Is my quiz data backed up?
Yes. Your questions, quizzes, and uploaded images are stored securely and sync across devices when you sign in with the same account. Make sure you are connected to the internet for syncing to occur.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your Apple IDSubscriptions → select LocktoLearnCancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore purchases on a new device?
Open LocktoLearn → Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Sign in with the Apple ID you used to subscribe. Your entitlement should activate within a few seconds.
How do I request a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are unable to issue refunds directly.
The app isn't locking apps. What should I check?
Confirm Screen Time is enabled in iOS Settings, and that you have granted LocktoLearn FamilyControls authorisation. If you set up Family Sharing, the Family Organiser may need to approve Screen Time for a child's device. See the Screen Time help section below.
Can my child use LocktoLearn?
LocktoLearn is intended for educational use and can be set up by a parent or guardian for a child on Family Sharing. Parents and guardians should supervise their child's usage. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Email support@locktolearn.com with the subject "Bug Report" or "Feature Request". Screenshots, screen recordings, your iOS version, and device model help a lot.
Screen Time authorisation

Authorise LocktoLearn to manage app access

LocktoLearn uses Apple Screen Time APIs to help users manage app access responsibly. Authorisation is required before you can lock any app.

  1. Open Screen Time on your iPhone

    Go to Settings → Screen Time. If Screen Time is off, turn it on first.

  2. Open LocktoLearn and tap "Get Started"

    iOS will show a system dialog asking to allow LocktoLearn to manage app access. Tap Continue then Allow.

  3. Choose apps to manage

    The Apple FamilyActivityPicker will appear. Select the apps you want LocktoLearn to lock. You can change this list at any time in LocktoLearn → Settings → Managed apps.

  4. For a child on Family Sharing

    The Family Organiser must approve LocktoLearn from their own device. Open Settings → [Child's name] → Screen Time and follow the prompts.

If the system dialog never appears, force-quit LocktoLearn and reopen it. If the problem persists, email us with your iOS version.

Subscription

Manage or restore your subscription

All billing is handled by Apple. LocktoLearn does not have access to your payment information.

Manage in Apple Settings

  1. Open Settings

    Tap the Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap your Apple ID

    Then tap Subscriptions.

  3. Select LocktoLearn

    From here you can change plan, cancel, or view your renewal date.

Restore on a new device

  1. Sign in with the same Apple ID

    Use the Apple ID you originally subscribed with.

  2. Open LocktoLearn → Settings

    Tap Subscription → Restore Purchases.

  3. Wait a few seconds

    Your entitlement should activate. Still stuck? Email us with your subscription receipt.

Free trial: if you cancel during a free trial, you will not be charged. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Required by Apple

Account & data deletion

Apple requires that apps offering account creation also offer a straightforward way to request deletion. Here's how.

  1. Send a deletion request

    Email support@locktolearn.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your account.

  2. We verify your identity

    We may ask you to confirm account details to protect against unauthorised deletion.

  3. Data is permanently deleted

    Within 30 days, we permanently delete your account, learning content, and uploaded images from our systems. You'll receive a confirmation email.

  4. Cancel your subscription separately

    Account deletion does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Please cancel via Apple before or after submitting your request.

Some data may be retained briefly as required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. We minimise this to what is strictly necessary.
